My Favourite Apps of 2016

2016 has been a pretty big year - I’ve found that my iPad has been replacing my Windows laptop, and that I’ve discovered that I can do lots of things on my iPad that I thought that I wasn’t able to. It’s become my primary device - I often find myself doing my homework on it, as well as programming and even gaming on it.

As I've been using my iPad more, the apps and workflows that I've used have been refined, and I'd like to say perfected, but I'm always finding new and quicker ways to do things. I find myself only using my computer for blog posts, when I want to do a lot of programming, and for occasional gaming. My iPad has become my primary platform, and it certainly meets up to the role well.

Most of this list is iOS apps, but quite a few of them are Mac and Windows apps too. The web apps at the end work on any platform.

Self Control - Block distracting websites

If you've been looking for a distraction blocker for your iPhone and iPad, look no further. With Self Control, you can add any sites that you want to block to your blacklist. You can block all of those sites if you want, are just a few of them. It's a great way to save time, and stop browsing Reddit when you should be doing coursework.

Something I wanted for a while - it would make The Nerdy Student look more professional, and would improve the site.

Nicer theme

Whilst I'm a fan of the current theme, I'd love to get a custom snazzy theme.

More apps and tech to review

I get gifted a lot of my apps and tech, that is true. However, there are some apps and tech that I would love to review that I can't unless I have the money - Scrivener and Ulysses for example.
